Through innovative digital solutions and stakeholder engagement, the ESCORT project aims to enhance patient experiences and advance emergency medicine across six European countries.
Challenges & Approach
Maintaining high-quality patient access to healthcare during regular times and emergencies, including cross-border crises, is a significant challenge. This involves creating effective policies, coordinating health professionals' activities, ensuring continuous patient access, optimizing resources, integrating advanced technologies, and engaging stakeholders for co-designed services.
The ESCORT project addresses these challenges by developing innovative patient services, integrating AI and IoT and training health professionals to enhance EU health system resilience. ESCORT aims to ensure continuous, high-quality care in all situations.
Project Activities
ESCORT engages patient advocacy groups, develops innovative patient services, optimizes resource use, and integrates AI and IoT technologies. It also trains health professionals through simulated case studies and provides evidence-based recommendations to enhance EU health system resilience. By leveraging expertise from six countries, ESCORT implements comprehensive strategies such as policy creation, professional coordination, resource optimization, and technology integration.

The Project
At ESCORT, our main objective is to revolutionize patient treatment services and fortify European health and care service resilience through cutting-edge technology integration. With a comprehensive approach spanning across eight work packages, we aim to achieve several key goals.
This includes ensuring compliance with ethics requirements, conducting organizational reviews of operational readiness, integrating wearable/IoT solutions for patient monitoring, implementing digital transformation in regular health and care services, implementing population-wide surveillance tools for monitoring citizen health, integrating ESCORT health and care services, developing training curriculums for ESCORT technology uptake, and providing overall project leadership and management.
